Q: When can I open an account?
A: You can open an account at any time. Just click Open an account to initiate the enrollment and contracting process. To speak to someone about opening an account, call us toll-free at 1-866-743-9222, Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm EST or send us an email. If you are an employee, you will receive enrollment details from your firm.
Q: Can I transfer an existing account to Lawyers Financial?
A: Yes. Please complete a Transfer Authorization Form if it’s a registered account (RRSP/LIRA/RRIF/LIF/TFSA/Pension). If it’s a non-registered account, simply sell the investments and contribute the cash to your Lawyers Financial account (don’t forget that selling investments may trigger capital gains or losses). Yes, Lawyers Financial retirement, investment and savings plans are available to the entire Canadian legal community. That includes lawyers, law students, judges, Quebec notaries, legal community retirees, and their families and staff.
Q: Who administers the Lawyers Financial plans?
A: The Lawyers Financial plans are administered by TELUS Health, Canada’s largest administrator of retirement and benefit plans.
